Apple Pie and Autumn

Yes glorious autumn is here. And suddenly the temperatures are lower.
The new pellet stove is burning away today, first time in use, and it is necessary.
I'm picking all my basil today and making lots of pesto with the pine nuts, olive oil and garlic. Very fragant.
That combined with the smell of pie baking.
These are smells of fall, and sights outside of leaves gradually turning color and beginning to drop.
All twenty-two replacement windows are in, just in time for the cold weather.
I did get to open the windows with my screens and enjoy several days of weather in the 90's last wk.Wonderful to have screens.
Lots of other outside gardening and landscaping clean up to do before it really does get cold.
Yes it is truly fall in all of its splendor and I am loving the cooler weather.

Lovely! I am so anxious to get into my own kitchen and do the things you're doing. I'll be busy this time next year!
